Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using the Habix platform.

1. Introduction and acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Habix platform (habix.co.uk), operated by Habix Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the platform.
2. Definitions
- "Platform" means the Habix website, web application, and any associated services provided by Habix Ltd.
- "User" means any individual or entity who creates an account on the Platform.
- "Landlord" means a User who registers to manage property compliance through the Platform.
- "Contractor" means a User who registers to offer property compliance services (e.g. gas engineers, electricians) through the Platform.
- "Content" means any data, text, files, documents, images, or other materials uploaded to or generated on the Platform.
3. Account registration
To use the Platform, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 18 years old to register. You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their authorisation.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used fraudulently.
4. Subscription and payments
Contractor accounts are free. Landlord accounts require a paid subscription after any applicable free trial period.
Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly in GBP. Your payment method will be charged automatically on each billing date.
Free trials: If we offer a free trial, you will not be charged until the trial period ends. You may cancel before the trial expires to avoid being charged.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until that date.
Refunds: We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us at support@habix.co.uk.
Price changes: We reserve the right to change our pricing. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price increase.
5. Landlord responsibilities
As a Landlord, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring that all property information and compliance data you enter is accurate and up to date.
- Uploading valid and genuine compliance certificates and documents.
- Meeting your legal obligations as a landlord under applicable UK law, including (but not limited to) gas safety, electrical safety, EPC, and right-to-rent requirements.
- Reviewing and acting on compliance alerts and expiry reminders in a timely manner.
Habix provides compliance tracking tools, but does not verify the authenticity of uploaded documents. You remain solely responsible for your legal compliance obligations.
6. Contractor responsibilities
As a Contractor, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about your qualifications, certifications, and areas of service.
- Holding all necessary licences and accreditations required by UK law for the services you offer.
- Completing booked work to a professional standard and within agreed timeframes.
- Issuing valid certificates and documentation upon completion of work.
Habix does not verify contractor qualifications and is not a party to any agreement between landlords and contractors. Any contract for work is between the landlord and the contractor directly.
7. Compliance sharing
The Platform allows Landlords to share compliance information via secure links with third parties such as tenants, letting agents, or local authorities.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of any compliance information you share. Habix does not guarantee the accuracy of shared data and accepts no liability for decisions made by third parties based on shared compliance information.
You may revoke shared access at any time through your account settings.
8. Intellectual property
The Habix platform, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Habix Ltd and is protected by UK and international copyright and trademark laws.
You retain ownership of any Content you upload to the Platform. By uploading Content, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display it as necessary to provide the service.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform without our prior written consent.
9. Limitation of liability
Habix provides property compliance tracking tools. We do not provide legal, regulatory, or professional advice. You should seek independent professional advice where necessary.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Habix is not responsible for any loss, damage, or liability arising from expired, invalid, or missing compliance certificates.
- We do not guarantee that the Platform will be available at all times, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of the Platform shall not exceed the total amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Data protection
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us or using the account settings in the Platform.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, use the Platform fraudulently, or engage in conduct that is harmful to other Users or to Habix.
Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, subject to any legal retention requirements.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through the Platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
